At Eye Contact Eye Care we offer comprehensive eye examinations for all ages, which includes detection of eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and cataracts. Having a regular eye test can reveal the presence of vision defects and ocular health conditions. It is recommended to have an eye examination at least once every two years.
If you notice a change in your vision we recommend making an immediate appointment as small changes can indicate serious sight threatening problems.
Our services include but are not limited to:
Retinal photography enables the optometrist to detect small subtle changes, such as early macular degeneration, which may not be visible with the normal ophthalmoscope. It is also an excellent way to track eye health over time. This is offered as an extra for a nominal fee and can be completed during any consultation.
Visual Fields Examinations
Computerized visual field examinations are performed if the optometrist suspects that there may be a condition which requires further investigation.
Tests for glaucoma include the measurement of your eye pressure, and optic nerve head evaluation. We only perform applanation tonometry, which is the most accurate method of measuring the intraocular pressure.
Diabetics should have a dilated examination of their retinas at least every twelve months to ensure that they do not have diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic changes to the retina can be sight threatening, but is also an indication of diabetic control.
Contact Lens Fitting
We offer comprehensive contact fitting services to ensure that you have the best possible contact lens fit as well as the clearest vision.
